Offshore decommissioning waste guidelines

Offshore decommissioning is increasing and over the next 30 to 40 years a lot of the platforms in the North Sea are going to come to shore for dismantling and recyclingd. The EA (Environment Agency) and SEPA (Scottish Environmental Protection Agency), the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) as well as BEIS (Business Enterprise Industrial Strategies) are responsible for making sure that this is done properly.

As a trusted partner in this field, D3 Consulting, along with Decom North Sea, have been asked to write the industry guidelines for managing offshore decommissioning of waste.  The first draft is already complete and available on Decom North Sea website for download and comment. We would like these guidelines to be created in collaboration with other partners in the industry and would ask that you download the draft and engage with us. Please comment on the first draft, let us know if you feel we’ve missed anything, tell us what works, and what doesn’t.  The guidelines should be completed by November 2018.
